Notes:
1. For gravitational load the value provided in the left column is the allowable load controlled by flexure strenght and the value in the right column is the uniform load that will produce a deflection equal to 1/180 of the span.
2. To obtain the load that will produce deflection equal to 1/240 of the span and 1/360 of the span, the table load should be multiply by a factor of 0.75 and 0.50, respectively.
3. To avoid a crippling failure of the web the reaction force should be less than the allowable crippling capacity. See section C3.4 AISI STANDARD 2001. |
Type B Roof Deck is a another Nu Vue roofing system created for greater strenght. It is a wide rib deck designed for use in roof construction with rigid insulation boards or as A built-up roofing material.
Its wide rib configuration provides greater strenght-to weight ration, due to its balanced distribution in the compression and tension stresses. It is deal for use when bigger loads or wider spacing of support members are required in construction. The Type B Roof Deck is recommended for use with insulation boards of one inch minimum.
As other products from Nu-Vue, Type B Deck is roll formed from hot dipped galvanized steel, G 90 coating, conforming to ASTM Specification A 653 for Structural Quality Steel in Gage 22 and Gage 20 thick material, having a minimum yield strenght of 33,000 psi. Each panel has a cover width of 24 inches and fabricated to custom lenght up to 40 feet. The panels are swaged at one end, allowing a simple and quick nesting of end laps.
